Local Nashville ramen empire, Otaku Ramen, has expanded down south with a new location that officially opened this past Saturday, February 11 at the Factory in Franklin (230 Franklin Road, suite 11-T). Otaku Franklin has walk-in seating, but you can also place orders to-go or for delivery Monday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The new Factory location will run daily happy hour specials from 4 to 6 p.m.
Chef Andy Little joins the Strategic Hospitality team
Last week, Strategic Hospitality announced that chef Andy Little would join the hospitality group’s team as its director of culinary operations. Little, who made headways in Nashville as the head chef and culinary force of Josephine in 12 South, received two James Beard Award semifinalist nods in his time there.
Known for his unique blend of Pennsylvania Dutch cooking and Southern hospitality, Little will provide mentorship and education to the team while steering operational guidelines for new and existing projects at the Nashville-based hospitality group. Strategic Hospitality’s portfolio also includes Bastion, Kisser, Locust, the Patterson House, and the Catbird Seat among others.
Reservations open for the Sweet Spot dessert pop-up at JW Marriott
Save room for dessert this week — the JW Marriott Nashville is back with another over-the-top pop-up right in time for Valentine’s Day. This one makes use of the hotel’s discretely hidden cocktail lounge, the Duke, and transforms it into a rose-strewn love nest with candlelight, plush seating, a stately fireplace, a 10-foot glass chandelier, and a floor-to-ceiling crystal curio cabinet. You’ll be treated to a Ferris wheel loaded with various desserts by executive pastry chef Daniel Mangione including berry chocolate cheesecake pops, Nutella chocolate pudding, caramelized lemon chocolate yuzu, and more.
The experience runs through Saturday, February 17, and takes place every night from 6 to 10 p.m. Reservations start at $30 per table (for a table of two) and can be made here. Champagne and themed cocktails are available for purchase separately.

Noelle has one of its own with a Wonderland-themed pop-up running from February 13 to May 31. The hotel has taken on Alice in Wonderland with three drink and dining experiences throughout the entire lower level. Included in the activations: a Down the Rabbit Hole brunch and dinner at Makeready L&L, the weekend-only Mad Hatter Tea with specialty cocktails and high tea service, and the Queen of Hearts pop-up cocktail party at Noelle’s speakeasy, Hidden Bar. Reservations for Down the Rabbit Hole and the Mad Hatter Tea can be made here. However, the Queen of Hearts bar experience is first-come, first-serve.
Don’t call it a pop-up: Stable Reserve hosts a dumpling pop-in
No hard-to-nab reservations are needed for this one: Stable Reserve is hosting a dumpling pop-in at its Main Street tasting room down in Franklin on February 14. Stable Reserve’s director of food and beverage, chef Marcus Gray (formerly a sous chef at Southall Farm & Inn), will create handmade dumplings along with complementary slaws and sauces starting at 5 p.m. The Stable Reserve team will also be on hand preparing specialty cocktails and drinks to pair with the dumplings.

FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WKRN) — The City of Franklin took News 2 for a ride in one of its snow plows on Tuesday.
For three days, the staff at Stormwater Management have worked 12-hour shifts to keep the city roads clear and safe.
“This is the busiest we have been with trying to keep the roads clean,” said Jason Malugin, an employee with Franklin’s Stormwater Management.
With a whole city to manage and maintain, each employee has around 10 plowing and salting routes in Franklin.
“If it would’ve quit snowing, this would’ve been over early, but as soon as we would get the streets clean, it would just cover it back up and it was hard to deal with,” Malugin said.
According to Malugin, it has been a brutal cycle of re-plowing the same roads over and over again.
“I would start one section and get it fairly well cleaned, then I’d move to another section,” Malugin said. “If I go back within an hour, it was already covered again.”
Now that the snow has finally stopped, Malugin spent Tuesday morning salting city roads. He expects the sun will help the salt do its job.
Malugin expects the roads to be fully cleared by the end of Wednesday, but with a chance of snow on the horizon for Thursday, Malugin said he hopes it doesn’t snow. If it does, however, the plan will be the same: plow and salt as much and as often as possible.
“I run my whole route. Once my whole route is done, I’ll start back over with the first one I started with,” Malugin said. “So if it takes me two hours to run that complete route, then I’ll start back over after those two hours.”
For now, Malugin told News 2 drivers can help by staying off the roads if possible, and not parking along side streets.

The Downtown Franklin Association, a division of the Heritage Foundation of Williamson County, announced recently that Small Business Saturday is taking place once again, this year on Nov. 25.
The event, founded by American Express in 2010, provides an opportunity for downtown Franklin businesses to give everyone a great time and incentive to “Shop Small” on Main Street.
While promoting local shopping on this special day, the Downtown Franklin Association will also be supporting additional parking solution this entire holiday season by partnering with The Factory at Franklin and The Franklin Transit Authority to provide FREE transportation for downtown shoppers on Saturdays between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
This festive shuttle is heated and handicap accessible for passengers to take into downtown Franklin from The Factory. Running in 30-minute shifts between 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays — Nov. 25, Dec. 2, 16 and 23. Guests are picked up at the Factory and dropped off on Main Street at the Public Square and vice versa. The route travels down Main Street from the Factory, takes a right at Five Points and follows either Bridge or North Margin so guests can view the businesses on Second, Third and Fourth avenues as well.
Guests can enjoy a festive holiday season of shopping in downtown Franklin as well as Southern hospitality from one of Franklin Local volunteers.

Another highlight of each Nashville Elvis Festival is the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest, with the winner moving on to Graceland’s Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest Semifinal & Finals in Memphis during Elvis Week each August. 21 contestants have been hand-selected from around the world and invited to compete in Nashville, coming from Japan, England, Chile, Brazil, Norway, Germany and all over the USA.
Nashville Elvis Festival features special guests and 30 of the best Elvis tribute artists from all over the world. Headliners scheduled to appear include Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist world champions COTE DEONATH (2023), BEN THOMPSON (2018), DEAN Z (2013) and BILL CHERRY (2009); Reigning Nashville Elvis Festival champion and “Million Dollar Quartet” star RILEY JENKINS; and award-winning Elvis tribute artists MICHAEL CULLIPHER, ALEX MITCHELL and JEFF LEWIS. Special guests confirmed to appear include the ULTIMATE JOHNNY & JUNE TRIBUTE; Current GRAMMY nominee and Elvis Presley’s favorite Gospel group, THE BLACKWOOD BROTHERS QUARTET; 80’s pop icon and multi-platinum chart-topping recording artist TIFFANY; Country artist JILLIAN CARDARELLI and more. Backing all live performances will be the incomparable INFINIT-E TRIBUTE BAND, giving the feeling and excitement of being at an actual Elvis concert.

Nashville Elvis Festival is hosted by TOM BROWN, host of “Tom Brown in the Morning” on Tupelo’s Sunny 93.3 and the former Vice President of Original Production for Turner Classic Movies (TCM). Elvis fans will recognize Brown as a longtime host of Elvis events nationwide, including select Graceland events and the “Gates of Graceland” web series.
