SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. —
A former youth pastor first arrested last year in Greenwood County, South Carolina, for voyeurism now faces dozens more charges across the state, officials said.
A magistrate in Spartanburg County on Wednesday set bond for Daniel Kellan Mayfield, 36, of Boiling Springs, at $1 million.
Lt. Kevin Bobo with the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office said earlier that deputies have now finished their investigation on Mayfield.

Mayfield was first arrested in May 2023 by the Greenwood County Sheriff's Office for voyeurism and their investigation led to similar charges in Greenville County.

A church official at First Baptist Gowensville, in Greenville County, previously confirmed that Mayfield was the student and youth pastor at the church up until the time of his arrest.

Greenville County coroner identifies victim of deadly crash
Greenville County deputies began examining multiple electronic devices that were seized from Mayfield, and as their investigation progressed, Bobo said.
He said they charged Mayfield with multiple counts of voyeurism, and they also identified other locations in Spartanburg County where Mayfield had committed the same offense.
"A majority of these incidents occurred at wedding venues where Mayfield was the contracted photographer/videographer," Bobo said. "As we received evidence from Greenville, it took considerable time to identify, notify, and interview those victims. As a result, we charged Mayfield with 38 counts of voyeurism for 24 victims."
The charges in Spartanburg County date back as far as 2018, according to warrants.

The Spartanburg County charges are in addition to 26 counts of voyeurism and 32 charges of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor in Greenville County and one count of voyeurism in Greenwood County.
When added together, the total of listed charges Mayfield faces in Upstate counties is 97.
Bobo said Mayfield was taken from the Greenville County Detention Center at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, and booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
He went before a magistrate there for a hearing at 2 p.m. Wednesday where bond was set at $1 million.
He was taken back to the Greenville County Detention Center, where another bond hearing will be held Thursday, since he has pending charges for the same offense from Beaufort County and Mt. Pleasant, Bobo said.
Because of the multiple jurisdictions, the South Carolina Attorney General's Office will be handling his prosecution, according to Bobo.

Plans for a 10,000-seat, multi-use stadium along Interstate 385 in Mauldin are moving forward again after a two-year delay.
The stadium will serve as home field for the Greenville Triumph and Greenville Liberty soccer clubs, which are collectively owned by Greenville Pro Soccer LLC. It will be located at BridgeWay Station, with a groundbreaking planned for early 2025.
It is expected to cost $80 to $100 million to build, made possible by a partnership between Greenville Pro Soccer, the city of Mauldin, and the state of South Carolina. The stadium is part of a development agreement with Hughes Investments, which owns BridgeWay Station.
In addition to serving as the home of the Triumph and Liberty clubs, the stadium is expected to be a hub for professional and youth sports – hosting lacrosse, rugby, football and more. It will also be used as a venue for concerts, festivals and community events.
The new facility is expected to be complete by 2026 to coincide with, and take advantage of, the FIFA World Cup coming to North America that summer. That tournament, featuring 48 international men’s soccer teams, includes matches in Atlanta.
According to the stadium’s development team, the project will put the Upstate firmly on the map as a sports tourism destination.
“This stadium represents the next chapter for our clubs,” said Joe Erwin, chairman and co-founder of Greenville Triumph SC and Greenville Liberty SC. “We’ve always envisioned a home that would not only serve as a place for soccer matches but as a gathering point for the entire community to enjoy an array of field sports, concerts and community events.”
Greenville Triumph SC, founded in 2018, competes in USL League One and won the league championship in 2020. The Greenville Liberty, a women’s pre-professional team, competes in the USL W League and just completed its third season.
BridgeWay Station, which held its official grand opening in April, currently includes a mix of residential, retail and commercial development.
“This stadium aligns perfectly with our goal of creating a vibrant and engaging environment that offers something for everyone,” said Phil Hughes, president of Hughes Investments. “The stadium will contribute significantly to the vibrancy of our community.”
Members of the project team also include McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture of Greenville, and McCullers Group, a sports and real estate consultant group based in Ohio.
The stadium was initially proposed by Greenville Triumph SC in early 2022 as a public-private project with Greenville County, under which the county would have owned the facility. Greenville County Council’s finance committee rejected that proposal.

Spectrum said that some customers were impacted Monday night by a fiber outage cause by a downed tree that damaged the network, but that issue has since been repaired.
They also provided information that 96% of customers have been restored in South Carolina. For those who are not restored, Spectrum says it is planning to provide updated expected restoration times for the remaining impacted customers. (We have followed up and asked how the estimated times will be communicated to customers and were told the updates will be posted on the website here. )
"Restoration is taking longer than we initially anticipated due to the damage to hundreds of miles of our network, challenges to safely access certain areas, and the need to return to make repairs in areas where infrastructure is being rebuilt," a spokesperson said Tuesday.
The spokesperson also said that at times Spectrum networks are damaged during the rebuilding process and when that happens they have to go back and re-repair an area, which slows down restoration and causes some to experience additional outages.
